Enough is enough. Longer testimonials DO NOT equal better. I love this example from Basecamp’s homepage. The longest quote is 8 words. The shortest is 3. Unlike case studies, testimonials are meant to be skimmed. The average website visitor won't read your 30-word customer quote.
